GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete line of heavy- and medium-duty electric vehicles, including high-floor and lower-floor models. The EV Star Cab & Chassis is their flagship model, and it is able to be adapted to suit a variety of applications. The design of the platform is based on a clear sheet of paper, which allows for optimal positioning of the battery pack and a lower center of gravity. This leads to better range/payload ratios.
The EV Star REEFERX was developed for mid-to-last mile refrigerated deliveries and catering applications. The class 4 refrigerated truck's one wall structure in the interior and higher insulation than traditional trucks allows for seamless sanitation, better temperature control and a more extended life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior capacity for cargo and an industry leading payload to range ratio for zero-emission goods and passenger transportation.

GreenPower joined forces with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems, which will allow fleets to move to autonomous vehicles. green mobility scooters will also be able to support wireless charging of 75 kW.
We had the opportunity to test drive the EV9 for a few hours on a local highway and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 can block wind and road noise while driving along the highway. It rides smoothly over ruts and humps. The acceleration is surprisingly quick, and the car comes with adjustable regenerative braking that allows "one pedal driving" by lifting off of the accelerator.
The EV9 provides a large range and can be charged in three hours or less at home, or with any commercial charger. Drivers can choose between two operating modes: eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode focuses on the power and cruise control, as well as handling while sport mode maximizes speed. Both modes are enjoyable to drive and provide an unforgettable experience for those who've never been in a vehicle with an electrical system before.
In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other e-vehicles available, including a multi-purpose electric mini bus, called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA-compliant and can be used for executive shuttles, microtransit or transit vanpools, buses, and paratransit vehicles.
GreenPower produces around 10 EV Star buses per month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration looking to electrify school buses nationwide, GreenPower plans on ramping up production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA conforming. This means they'll be eligible for federal assistance in transit. We will be following the AV Star as it goes on its demonstration tour in later this year. We will give more details about this amazing electric vehicle!
